Dickinson Cameron proudly presents the completion of the new Chanel store at Tysons Galleria, in Mclean, VA. This project involved the consolidation of four spaces, resulting in a store 8,626 SQFT and triple the size of its predecessor. With a massive storefront spanning 195 linear feet, the facade showcases Neoparies stone with signature pleats, elegantly illuminated, and complemented by two floating vitrines. Noteworthy design elements include custom fresco plaster walls and unique light fixtures by renowned French goldsmith Goossens.
Under Senior Project Manager Danielle Dyson’s leadership, our team adeptly handled numerous challenges. Situated on the second floor of a three-level mall, the store’s location necessitated meticulous coordination with multiple tenants, as it spanned over six lease spaces. Overnight work was essential, particularly for the installation of Tormax closers, electrical, and plumbing, all seamlessly integrated beneath the post-tensioned slab in addition to the placement of steel beams spanning four stores beneath the Chanel space.
Further challenges, like differing deflections between floors, necessitated proactive detailing in both storefront design and execution. This approach ensured a smooth construction process, despite the site’s unique location complexities.
Special recognition goes to Mike Von Wiegandt, Grady Powell, and Project Coordinator Brittany for their contributions to overcoming these challenges. As we await LEED Gold certification, Dickinson Cameron celebrates another successful project, showcasing our dedication to our luxury retail partners, Chanel.
