Hermes’ newly opened boutique in Austin Texas was featured in WWD Magazine Digital Edition. The DCC-built luxury project is a first-generation street location and the first Hermes in the Austin area.
Dickinson Cameron was hired as the general contractor and worked with designer RDAI and Montes Laudano to complete the 7,600 sqft project in April 2022. Terrazzo flooring and wall paneling are featured throughout the interiors and exterior. Special attention was made to details such as 1/4″ quirks at all the terrazzo wall paneling joints. These panels had to be hand planed and grooved for the precision required of a natural product.
“…designed by the Parisian architecture agency RDAI and includes a facade of simple mineral terrazzo and large windows overlooking South Congress Avenue… The architectural center of the two-story boutique is a gray terrazzo ramp with amber accents that was inspired by skate parks. Throughout the store, the naturalistic textures of raffia walls and oak panels compliment the graphic design of the dune-colored carpets.”
