Dickinson Cameron provided general contracting services for North Italia restaurant in San Antonio, TX. The grand opening will be celebrated on June 9, 2021. North Italia makes the perfect addition to The Rim, a mixed-use lifestyle center, that includes shopping, cinemas, residences, hotels, and dining which is located in the north corner of San Antonio.

We contended with adjacent apartments above and behind the lease space and proper coordination of multi-level exhaust route. Mechanical systems for restaurants differ from retail projects in that restaurant BOH spaces produce an immense amount of heat (as well as smoke and grease) from all the cooking equipment. Restaurants also accommodate more guests at one time, so removing these unpleasant elements from the space is critical for guest comfort. Routing through multiple lease spaces requires careful planning and strong coordination efforts, beginning with drawing review during the bid process.

We also navigated challenges adjusting to COVID-19 health requirements, managing multiple starts and stops to the project work. Ensuring the safety and health of our workers was the number one priority. We are proud that we did not experience any person-to-person transmissions by implementing strong COVID-19 protocols. Despite these challenges, the team came through with fantastic results.

The restaurant patrons will enjoy over 6,400 square feet of dining space, a complete full-service bar, and heated covered outdoor patio areas.
